At a very young age Katerina was creative, noticing how people, places and things looked and how they could be esthetically improved. Always moved by elegance, Katerina has always been a perfectionist who will not settle for anything less than her vision of excellence. The youngest of five children, she quickly became the ‘go to’ person in her family for advice on home décor or what clothes to wear for a given occasion. At the age of eight Katerina attended a special school to learn how to design and make her own clothes. This she has continued to do throughout her life.

Her talents also developed into a love of music and the arts to supplement her outlets for her creativity. Denied an opportunity to pursue her love of dance, she placated parental wishes by attending the program at Leningrad Pharmaceutical College. She worked at a Pharmacist for several years while continuing to design and make clothes for herself and her friends.

Katerina turned to her design and business talents in 1987 first working for a large clothier in Moscow running Sales and Marketing. In 1992 she founded her own very successful firm, Elegance & Grace Fine Clothiers in Russia. During this period, Katerina designed classic clothes, traveled the world to find the best materials, manufactures, transshipped products worldwide, marketed and sold these goods inside and out of Russia. At the same time, she expanded her talents to include the design of home interiors. A hobby at the juncture, Katerina displayed an intuition for taking the desires and tastes of clients and friends and turning this into a tasteful cozy design that would be both classic and livable. It became apparent that the ‘feel’ for clothes is comparable and compatible with a feel and a taste for interior design.

Having come to America in 2000, Katerina reverted to Pharmacy to make a living. In 2007 having decided to capitalize on her natural talent set, she continued her education attending Heritage School of Interior Design. Immediately thereafter, she embarked on a new venture, forming Katerina’s Interiors LLC.

Katerina’s philosophy is that your surroundings, your clothes and your home have a positive or negative impact on your quality of life. Dressed well and living in a quality environment will improve your life dramatically.
